And Its Not So Hidden Meaning

IDF exposes massive tunnel system in Gaza built by Sinwar's brother

Consider this: 94% est. of thinking is unconscious & 95% est. of communication is nonverbal, thus symbols and fantasy are at the core of the problem of political violence. Form follows function; function follows fantasy. All behavior can be potentially understood.

Hamas’s Unconscious Mapping of the Human Body Continues

Since form follows function and function follows fantasy, what exactly is the Brothers Sinwar's fantasy about this grandiose gigantic tunnel they dreamed up and built concretely (pardon the pun) for Hamas and its Gazans?

What are we to make of this grandiose gigantic tunnel?

We continue to see that Hamas must be very confused about the human body as the tunnel system is so elaborate with all its twists and turns and now a tunnel so big that Sinwar's brother Muhammad can actually ride through it. Indeed "The Metro" takes on an anthropomorphic quality with so many humans inhabiting it.

cf.  “IDF shows Yahya Sinwar's brother driving through giant Gaza tunnel”

The video reminded me of a SuperMario game where the micro-size hero manically zooms along and through the huge tunnel in search and frantic to return somewhere. But where? It’s an evocative unconscious image that many on social media can relate to as well. Yet, this is not play as Hamas's objective is genocidal -- to destroy the Jews.

We recall that in jihad there is brothering known as mu’akhat, about which I wrote in War Blog # 28. Malignant twinships of destruction and annihilation are formed such as the Brothers Sinwar.

The Brothers Sinwar's Ummi and her birth canal

Muhammad and Yahya Sinwar have fabricated their mother's “birth canal” by building the gigantic tunnel. They concretize a shared psychotic family fantasy and like a contagion it has been taken up and spread through the armed resistance movement of Hamas.

Unmet needs

The wish is to return to the mother even though paradoxically they have not separated from her. They are in psychological conflict. This is in large part due to their unmet needs – psychological as well as physical, the devastating unacknowledged fact that they have never experienced empathy. Their mothers after all were treated as little girls as objects to be under surveillance because of the family owning her vagina and its birth canal.

Ummi, in turn, has only known and experienced herself as an object; this is tragically communicated to the male baby turned Hamas. He is her "taste" of honor. She unconsciously uses him as her pathological narcissistic object; they are enmeshed. On account of her own unmet needs, she experiences the baby as being overwhelming, attacking, and making too many demands on her. Hence paranoia ensues and the intergenerational transmission of unmet needs along with its the cycle of violence. Chronic rage of a severe caliber giving us the tragedy of October 7th.

The picture below of Gallant and IDF soldiers walking through the gigantic tunnel speaks to and echoes the idea of being "born" upon leaving the tunnel/birth canal.

But how do we know that affect laden unmet needs plays such a profound role in Hamas's maternal drama?

We turn to the Quran to find the answer:

The Quran Verse Surat Ali ‘Imran 3:169

“Never think of those martyred in the cause of Allah as dead. In fact, they are alive with their Lord, well provided for—"

This is a key passage for the jihadis that in their afterlife they will be well provided for and all their unmet needs will finally be met.

This surah is named after the family Ali ‘Imran whose members are Saint Anne, Mary and Jesus which all speak to the cooptation of the revelation of the Gospels by Islam with the Prophet Muhammad being the Prophet of  “The Seal,” meaning that he is the last and ultimate prophet with revelation ending with him. The Prophet Muhammad encompasses all the other prophets from Adam onward in the Torah and the New Testament.

To conclude

We see that unmet needs psychological, physical, emotional etc. play a key role in jihad though there has been virtually no discussion of its ramifications for their lived experience and embracing of genocidal ideologies. Unmet needs hold a person back developmentally, locking them into a position and state of chronic negativity. They have not experienced nor explored their inner life. They have no understanding of themselves. Hamas would never be able to turn the corner and ask themselves -- why are we so chronically and persistently enraged, filled with hatred needing to terrorize others, murder them and shred them to pieces?

Instead, they remain locked into being consumed by rage and in their case -- a rage that exceeds murder itself.  Hamas not only annihilated the Jews in the Gaza periphery in Israel on October 7th, they had to literally destroy and dismantle the human body as in serial killing, including the beheading of Jewish babies. The body is the psychic representation of their mother’s body. They are obsessed with the human body and most especially the mother’s body and her birth canal to wit the gigantic grandiose tunnel fantasized by the Brothers Sinwar who made a concrete, concrete tunnel through the power of this shared psychotic fantasy with its other Hamas “brothers.” And yet we can see in this very psychotic craziness that Yahya Sinwar could careless about his own alleged Hamas brothers. For him they are completely expendable for they are merely objects in his mind's eye. Life is cheap.

Unfortunately this psychotic fantasy is a common one and it resonates deeply too with all those who have unmet needs and who are filled with rage. They too have many skewed fantasies about their own body and that of their mother’s. They can not “see the forest from the trees” as they are undifferentiated and fused symbiotically to the early mother. It should not surprise us then that globally mass protests of the "Islamic Masse und Macht" (Islamic crowds and power) invented and perversely enjoy their “Day of Rage” chanting the death and destruction of Israel and the Jews.

The aim of this blog is to promote and advance an understanding of the relationship of early childhood to the jihadis’ violent behavior and externalized hatred. Many aspects of culture will be addressed in order to do a deep dive and a deep dig into the unconscious behavior behind all the political ideologies and the verbiage.
