Lynching Under Its Black Flag of Jihad

War Blog #17

Islam’s arrival into the Caucasus region occurred in Dagestan, preceding its arrival in Chechnya by several centuries. Thus, it could be argued that Dagestanis have been Muslim longer and have a deeper tie to the religion and its jihad.

Even though Jews have lived in the North Caucuses for over two millennia, their Muslim neighbors sought to lynch diaspora Jews on an airplane which was bringing back Dagestani children who had undergone medical treatment in Israel. They hunted for them.

Bringing Muslim children to Israel for medical treatment has been a long-standing practice with the hopes of promoting normalization of relations and peace. Yet the persistence of the blood libel is so engrained in the Muslim psyche, that the ummah and its leaders lack the moral capacity to speak out against Hamas’s atrocities and most especially, the beheading of Jewish babies despite this fact that we have been saving their children’s lives.

The Maternal Drama of the Chechen Jihadi

Reading about the near lynch at the Dagestani airport called to mind my third book The Maternal Drama of the Chechen Jihadi along with Muslim Resistance to the Tsar: Shamil and the Conquest of Chechnia and

Dagestan by the late scholar Prof. Moshe Gammer.

In 2014 I was invited by the eminent American publisher of psychology, Jason Aaronson, to write on the psychology of terrorism for his free psychology e-books*. I immediately chose this region because of the Boston Marathon Bombing carried out by the jihadi Brothers Tsarnaev. The attack had taken place less than one year ago in which three were murdered and 100s injured along with 17 who lost limbs. In the book I mention Dagestan 22 times. The Brothers Tsarnaev had blood ties to Dagestan through their mother Zubeidat who actually fancied herself to be a Black Widow. The name given to the Chechen and Dagestani female suicide bombers of the Moscow Theater Hostage Attack in 2002.

One could see transparently the dysfunctional abuse of the female in these shame honor cultures. Dagestan and Chechnya have been “jihadi twins” for generations to seek blood vengeance.

After tweeting my war blog on Hamas as Tip of the Spear, I received a tweet reply cited The Maternal Drama of the Chechen Jihadi as a good read.

Last night’s near lynching elicited a predictable response from Chechnya’s leader Ramzan Kadyrov who vilified Israel even though he like the sick Dagestani children had had the opportunity to visit Israel, in his case the dedication of the Chechen Abu Ghosh Mosque. Cf. https://www.financial-world.org/news/news/financial/22870/kadyrov-announced-aid-to-palestine-israeli-fascism-is-superior-to-hitler-s-/ and https://www.researchgate.net/publication/358975903_Putin_and_Kadyrov%27s_Chechens

Kadyrov has been Putin’s lackey and as Zelensky has noted Putin has been inciting anti-semitism. The recent visit of Hamas’s leaders to Moscow has not helped while he claims he wants to mediate the Gaza war.

A recent mini history of violence in Dagestan

In 1999 there were a series of apartment building bombings in Dagestan and Moscow killed 291 and wounded hundreds. Also, the bombing of 18 apartment buildings in Vladikavkaz, North Ossetia killed 4. Then in 2011 there was the Dagestan Airport suicide bombing in which 37 were killed 168 wounded claimed by the Dagestan Front of the Caucasus Emirate.

According to the findings of START, the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism, there were 1,415 terrorist attacks connected with the Chechens from January 1992 through December 2011 in the Global Terrorism Database.

Yet the quick nearly spontaneous mobilization of a Dagestani Islamic Masse und Macht lynching crowd points to how deep the ties to jihad, blood violence and the pathological maternal symbiosis are as exemplified by Zubeidat, the Brothers Tsarnaev's mother. The mentality of the herd dominates due to the cognitive deficits which I have cited in my previous blog -- Hamas’s Fuel “Issue.”

The Black Flag of Dagestani Jihad and the female body

Furthermore such group psychopathology runs deep too in their history by means of the group shared fantasies around the mother which have been manipulated by the ideologies of jihad. Take this one last example of the black battle flag of jihad, called Al-raya, with the sword underneath the Shahada [cf. image above], the Islamic proclamation of faith, was said to have been carried into battle by the Prophet Muhammad and his companions. It is a powerful image. Rallying around a flag in this case can be likened to rallying around the tip of the spear of Hamas. The Black Flag was taken global by Al Qaeda. Many terrorist groups use it as their banner and as is the case in Chechnya and Dagestan.

While I did not see the black flag in any of the social media from the attempted lynching, there were Palestinian flags and cries of Allahu Akbar. Yet undeniable there is a tie to a very special female body. It is said that the flag was made from a square piece of black velvet from Aisha, the Prophet's most beloved wife, his child bride. Think of the black flag as a negative transitional object, like Linus’ blanket in the Peanuts’ cartoon gone wrong, since rather than calming it stimulates, excites and is a call to commit violence in the name of jihad. It is deeply engrained in the group psyche.

To conclude

Predictably the Dagestanis rallied around Hamas’s spear while holding in their mind's eye this prior known and venerated history of their black flag of jihad. Due to the fact that Dagestan, too, is a shame honor culture, the cognitive deficits can be seen in the unruly violent herd seeking to murder. For the Jews this is an existential war that will be won.

The aim of this blog is to promote and advance an understanding of the relationship of early childhood to the jihadis’ violent behavior and externalized hatred. Many aspects of culture will be addressed in order to do a deep dive and a deep dig into the unconscious behavior behind all the political ideologies and the verbiage.
